Is a loss of privacy inevitable in modern societies?

2021年度第2回1級1次試験の英作文問題に似た(ほぼ同一の)テーマですね。

I’m of the opinion that individual’s privacy can’t be protected completely.

I have two reasons to support my belief.

First, as the Internet usage increases, individual’s private information is stolen more frequently.　Nowadays, more and more people can purchase things by using online stores such as Amazon.com. This means that many people are feeling comfortable about entering their private information on the Internet. As a result, the number of cyber-crimes like credit card fraud is significantly increasing.

Second, it’s becoming much easier for people to identify one person’s address. For example, by using feature called “street view” of Google Map, we’re able to check scenery of places that we haven’t actually visited yet. Also, a greater number of celebrities upload videos regarding their daily lives on Internet medias such as YouTube. Because of this trend, many of their address are being identified by strangers, leading to serious crimes like stalking.

From these two reasons, I believe that a loss of privacy is inevitable consequence in modern societies. (167 words)
