Agree or disagree: Technological advances have made the world a safer place

(賛成か反対か:技術の進歩により、世界はより安全な場所になった)

I agree with the view that technological advances have made the world a safer place.

To explain my opinion, I have two reasons.

First, technological development has contributed to better public safety. For example, technology enabled the government to install security cameras in various kinds of public places. According to one survey, the number of serious crimes halved in areas with large numbers of surveillance cameras. Also, security cameras allow police officers to conduct investigations of certain crime, contributing to higher arrest rate.

Second, technology has decreased the number of deaths caused by traffic accidents. Manufacturers of automobiles have made efforts to protect people from such dangers. For example, automatic braking system prevents drivers from accidentally crush into the back of another car. Thanks to this kind of feature, the number of annual deaths caused by traffic accidents in last year is only about 15% of the number in 50 years ago.

In conclusion, I believe that the world has become much safer places because of technological developments. (168 words)
