英検1級2次試験:Is information technology changing news media for the better?

Is information technology changing news media for the better?

(情報技術はニュース媒体をより良い方向へ変えているか?)

"information"を多用しすぎ感が出てしまってますね。時間があれば訂正してみようと思います。

I'm of the opinion that information technology is changing news media for the better. I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, information technology enables us to collect and disseminate useful, real-time news. For readers, we can gather a great deal of information so quickly and efficiently by using applications such as Smartnews or social networking services like Twitter. In addition, for information senders, more and more numbers of news can be read by a lot of people, contributing to higher revenue and profits.

Second, information technology enhances reader's literacy. For example, in the past, when readers can collect news by using only TV programs or paper-based newspapers, it was very difficult for them to compare various kinds of information. On the other hand, nowadays we readers can gather information from multiple perspectives. As a result, we can easily identify wrong or biased information, leading to higher literacy.

To sum up, I believe that IT is changing news media for the better. (163 words)
