I believe that part of the contents on the Internet should be censored. Some may argue that censorship would contribute to dictatorship, but I don’t think that putting no restriction is a good idea.

I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, aggressive or discriminatory contents or remarks should be eliminated from websites. According to one study, it is suggested that speeches that directly harms other people are just as harmful as physical violence. Because of these kinds of contents that are posted by strangers, I think more and more people will become mentally ill, and some of them may even commit suicide.

Second, posting misinformation should be banned. For example, some people wrote about totally wrong information about the side effects of vaccine for COVID-19. In response to this, many people refrained from getting vaccinated, leading to more numbers of deaths from the disease.

From these two viewpoints that I mentioned, I believe that the Internet should be censored. (161 words)
