Do the pros of having only one superpower outweigh the cons?

I’m against the opinion that the advantages of having only one superpower outweigh its disadvantages.

I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, it may lead to worldwide recession. Once a country becomes a superpower, then its companies will have more branches or factories all over the world. But it’s impossible to predict what will happen in the future. For example, economic condition of this country may be worse significantly. If this does happen, many people will lose their own jobs, and then the world poverty will increase.

Second, the environment would be negatively impacted. Historically, large countries like China, India constructed large amounts of factories in order to achieve industrialization efficiently. As a result, various kinds of harmful substances were released into the air, leading to bad environmental condition. Once the world has only one superpower, this kind of problem will get worse, contributing to serious diseases such as lung cancer, breathing problems and so on.

From these two viewpoints, I don’t believe that having only one superpower is good for our society. (175 words)
