Should schools put more focus on teaching IT skills?

I’m of the opinion that schools should put more focus on teaching IT skills.

I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, students will have more opportunities to earn a great amount of money. According to a recent data, the annual income of employees working at IT companies are much higher than the average people. As we know, it’s estimated that the government funds will decrease because of ballooning medical fee for the elderly and low birthrate. However, if a larger number of people earn greater amount of money, they would be able to pay higher taxes, contributing to Japanese society in the future.

Second, it would contribute to higher information literacy. Sadly, nowadays damages caused by cybercrime is increasing year by year. For example, many people are trying to steal important information such as address, credit card number, and so on. However, if schools put more emphasis on teaching information technology, students will be more likely to protect themselves from such dangers.

From these two perspectives, I believe that schools should teach students more about IT skills. (179 words)
