I agree with the idea that the private ownership of guns should be banned.

I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, it would be the deterrent to serious crimes. As we know, it is very easy for us to kill other people by using guns. Also, according to recent data, around 20,000 people are killed by guns in the US every year. On the other hand, in Japan, it is very difficult to purchase guns because criminal law prohibits to do so without permission. This is one reasons that Japan has the second lowest murder rate in the world.

Second, banning the ownership of them would prevent antisocial organizations from earning a lot of money. Historically, many people have made huge amounts of money by manufacturing weapons and selling them to soldiers. In other words, these manufacturers have made profits while making the society insecure. However, banning the private ownership of weapons would cause those manufacturers go out of business in the future, which is a very good trend.

From these two reasons, I believe that the private ownership of guns should be banned. (186 words)
