Agree or disagree: Japan encourages entrepreneurship

I agree with the opinion that Japan encourages entrepreneurship. Since 2010, the number of people who start their own businesses has been increasing year by year.

I’ll explain two reasons why the number is increasing.

First, the governments in Japan are working hard to support new businesses. For example, the Tokyo Metropolitan government has invested hundreds of millions of yen in a center to support entrepreneurs who develop new business plans. Also, the Japanese government is working on programs to provide funds for businesses started by elderly people.

Second, nowadays, lifetime employment is no longer practical in Japan. In the past, most companies in Japan could afford to keep hiring employees until their retirement. However, due to the recent recession, it’s natural for even large companies to go bankruptcy at any time. In response to this trend, more and more people start their own businesses for “self-protection”.

From these two reasons, I believe that Japanese society is encouraging entrepreneurship. (159 words)
