Should the government prioritize domestic issues over international issues?

ちょうど1カ月前になりましたね。時間が近付くにつれて焦りばかりが募ってきます。

I’m of the opinion that theJapanese government should prioritize domestic issues over international issues.

I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, there are many urgent issues that Japan should tackle. For example, as we know, Japan is one of the super-aging nations in the world. Because of this, it is estimated that welfare crisis will occur in the next few decades. In addition, because of low birthrate, the number of workforces is decreasing significantly, leading to the economic stagnation.

Second, Japan has no capability of making military contribution. Due to the defeat of World War II, Constitution prohibits Japan from using nuclear weapons. For example, when Gulf War happened about 30 years ago, Japan only made financial contribution to other countries. However, Japanese government was not appreciated so much by nations involving in the warfare.

From these two reasons, I believe that the Japanese government should prioritize domestic issues over international issues. (155 words)
