I’m of the opinion that the advantages of ecotourism outweigh the disadvantages.

I have two reasons to support my opinion.

First, it raises people’s awareness about the importance of environmental protection. Ecotourism at Yakushima-island is one of the successful cases in Japan. For example, visitors can gen it touch with nature with professional guides while enjoying leisure activities such as climbing, kayaking, and so on. Thanks to these activities, visitors often have more respect to natural environment, which they often forget in their daily lives in cities.

Second, it often stimulates local economies. In general, visitors stay the area at least for a few days. This means that they have lots of opportunities to spend a huge amount of money at local stores, hotels, and some other facilities. Also, these days, good reputations of local areas can be easily spread through the Internet. This trend would result in more numbers of visitors, leading to higher profits for local people.

In conclusion, I believe that the advantages of ecotourism outweigh the disadvantages. (171 words)
