Can the efforts of individuals change society for the better?

Can the efforts of individuals change society for the better?

I’m of the opinion that the efforts of individuals can change society for the better. Historically, thanks to the efforts of many people, living conditions of us has improved dramatically. I have two examples of them to support my opinion.

First, invention of telephone has greatly improved our society. In the 19th century, first telephone was developed by English engineer called Graham Bell. Thanks to him, more and more people are able to communicate with others without meeting in-person. We can spend extra time on valuable activities such as work, hobbies, and time with loved ones.

Second, Mahatma Gandhi’s efforts greatly contributed to peaceful society in India. He tried to achieve independence from Great Britain without using military force or violence. He finally achieved his goal while minimizing suffering of innocent citizens.

Considering these examples that I mentioned, I believe that if people work harder to something, then our society will be better and better. (155 words)
