Should more be done to protect minority groups around the world?

I think that more should be done to protect minority groups around the world. Even today, lots of minority groups are prejudiced against in our society.
I’ll explain two examples of them to support my opinion.
First example is ethnic minority. For example, many Uyghurs people are discriminated against in China. They are not allowed to speak their mother tongue inside of schools. Also, some of them are sent to “re-education camps” and suffering from suppression and fears. In other words, many of them are the victims of so-called “genocide”. The world should make more efforts to support them from such dangers.
Second example is sexual minority. We often hear that Japan is a very unwelcoming place for the members of the LGBT community. For instance, most of them can’t reveal their sexuality to family members due to fear of rejection. Recently, some cities have started allowing same-sex partnerships. However, in fact, a lot of politicians are against this policy.
To sum up, I believe that more should be done to protect minority groups around the world. (177 words)
