Is Japan doing enough to ensure its national security?

諸々の要因により心が沈み切っており、全く試験対策をする気が起きず、更新が滞っておりました。

特に、ウクライナ情勢については本当に心の痛む情報ばかりが入ってきます。最近心身ともに不安定になっている一番の要因かもしれません。

(学習記録用のブログになるので、政治的な書き込みは極力控えたいところですが・・・)昨日の武力進攻については、「自衛」という大義名分のもとに行われた、ロシア政府の一方的な都合による「侵略」であるとしか捉えられません。決して看過できることでは無いと考えます。

一般市民までもが戦渦に巻き込まれていくニュースが飛び込むたびに、目を背けたくなるものです。現地の方々の安全を切に願ってやみません。

また、今回のトピックに対する原稿に関連することではありますが、我々日本人にとっても対岸の火事とは言えない出来事だと痛感します。

さて、本題に入りたいと思います。作成した原稿は以下の通りです。

I’m against the opinion that Japan is doing enough to ensure its national security.

I have two viewpoints to support my opinion.

First is nuclear weapon. Due to the defeat of World War II, Constitution prohibits Japan from possessing and using nuclear weapon. Also, there are lots of countries that frequently violate international rules around Japan. When these countries try to send their armies to our country, it’s nearly impossible for Japan to protect itself from potential dangers. Some may argue that superpowers like the US can fight against these countries. But we’re not sure whether the allies work initiatively.

Second, most of the ordinary citizens are not equipped to deal with attacks. For example, it’s estimated that over 90% of Japanese population don’t understand how to use weapons like guns or bombs properly if necessary. Also, these are not enough infrastructure to protect citizens. In fact, most public facilities don’t have shelters that enable us to protect ourselves from radioactive substances that are released from nuclear weapons.

From these two perspectives, I don't believe that Japan is doing enough to ensure its national security. (185 words)
